Pulley and Lift Designs
Standard single-pulley system
Simple block-and-tackle system with 2 pulleys. This system decreases the amount of force required to lift the load.
This system requires no pulleys, which minimizes the amount of friction generated in the mechanism.

Flywheel Designs
Standard rotating bobbin with string glued-on. This design is simple to construct and weight could be distributed away from its center by wrapping wire around the bobbin.
Flywheel with knobs for looping the string on to. This design could help distribute weight away from the center of the flywheel to increase momentum.
